Some signs of concussion in children
During the physical examination, the doctor will examine the patient for other associated injuries, such as a neck injury orwhiplash, that are common with head injury. Some signs of concussion in children are: tiring easily, irritability, a change in eating or sleeping habits, loss of interest in favorite toys and unsteadiness on their feet. Your child has a concussion, a mild brain injury and it can affect how your child’s brain works for a while. A CT scan is usually recommended in children who lost consciousness for more than five minutes.
Since concussion is defined as a temporary change in brain function, it is important to examine the patient on more than one occasion. If hospitalization is not required, the doctor will provide instructions for your recovery.
